Asking for It (Eating and Shopping)
The minute I landed in Osaka I CRAVED パフェ. On the plane, I heard about whole bars devoted to toppings and ice cream with flavours like green tea and red bean!
So, I memorised those three katakana sounds and characters and practised how to ask for パフェ. It’s backward from English. You say the thing you want and then add the "please may I have?"
Like this: パフェ を ください
At the ペット カフェ I sounded out more katakana words on the メニュー and then moved on to the デパート and コンビ二.
In this katakana game, score 8 correct in a row to win. If you get one wrong, the counter starts over. That's brutal if you're one shy of winning.
